Veggie Vigilantes / Hg2 MUST-EAT

We love great food here at Hg2, but we love it even more when that food is doing more than just sating our appetites. Fortunately, Otarian – the planet’s first low carbon restaurant, now open at 185 Wardour Street in Soho – is doing just that by easing our collective conscience with each bite. Otarian’s menu skips meat completely due to the livestock industry’s sizeable contribution to our carbon footprint, and almost all the materials used to furnish and decorate the interior are recycled. The menu is no less exciting, though, with a great variety of dishes available from the Tex Mex burger to the Spiced Coconut Curry to the Crème O Brulee (all available dairy-free, of course). Inside, the restaurant has a very fresh and modern feel (even 100% recycled tables can be super stylish), and one can pop in for a fair-trade espresso or stay and savour a ‘hearty’ meal – saving the world one bean-burger at a time.
