California Dreamin’ / Hg2 MUST-VISIT

Famous for being the hotel that hosted Julia Roberts and Richard Gere in Pretty Woman, the Beverly Wilshire is about to become even more famous thanks to its recently refurbished Penthouse and Presidential Suite. Having undergone a $40-million facelift, the Four Seasons-owned hotel has always been a magnet for movie stars, but the revamped suite is sure to see a new influx of celebrities flock through its revolving glass doors with plenty on offer to those with a career in celluloid including its own media room for private screenings. Spread across 5,000-square-metres, guests can also enjoy sweeping views out over the Hollywood Hills, sleek mosaic flooring underfoot, dazzling Swarovski crystal chandeliers overhead and chic Corinthian columns flanking the entrance hall. While there are two bedrooms to choose from, we certainly know which one we’d pick with the master bedroom boasting a silver leaf bed frame and an oversized walk-in closet; a marble soaking tub and steam shower for two finish things off nicely. And with a library, kitchen and 12 seater dining room, it really doesn’t get much better. No wonder it’s $25,000 per night.
