A stripper in a bathtub and a TV out the window may be typical rock star behaviour, but most hotels wouldn’t be too appreciative of normal guests indulging in such recklessness. Thankfully guests visiting London can now indulge their wild side at the new Hendrix Suite in the Cumberland Hotel, the legendary guitarist’s last-known address. Unveiled to commemorate 40 years since Jimi’s death, the suite pays homage to the star’s psychedelic style with a flamboyant colour palette, retro patterns, statement lighting and framed NME covers flanking the walls. Conceived by interior designer Mary Gannon, the room is the perfect stay for fans of both the singer/songwriter and of sumptuous, superstar style.
