Get Him To The Greek / Hg2 MUST-EAT

As one of the oldest Greek restaurants in London – 75 reigning years, to be exact – it brought a tear to the eye when Elysee was shut down a year ago for planned refurbishments. But now it’s back, bigger, better and more beautiful than ever, with diners across the capital smashing plates in glorious celebration. Found at 13 Percy Street in fabulous Fitzrovia – where else? – the elegant eatery now boasts a 1930s-inspired dining room, a first-floor cocktail bar and a 700-square-foot roof terrace with retractable roof. Fortunately, awe-inspiring aesthetics are backed up by a mouthwatering menu of Greek sharing plates, mezze dishes and grilled meats. A particular highlight is the lobster souviaki (pictured below), while the pot roast quail with pomegranate is a close second. And frequented by a chic crowd of well to-do Greek god and goddesses, it’s hardly surprising that the reservations book is fit-to-bursting. Go gorgeous Greek, we say.
