Dancing Green / NEWS HUNGRY

We don’t yet do a guide to Rotterdam, but after seeing this – the world’s first sustainable dance floor and club – we think we might have to. Housed inside WATT, the dance floor itself generates energy by the movements of people and is embedded with flashing LED panels that change colour as party-goers shimmy across it. Which is good, considering the ‘experimental venue’ is usually filled with the city’s most fabulous busting grooves to heady house music. Designed by Kossmann.DeJong, the club also boasts toilets that are flushed with rainwater collected from the roof and a vertical garden that acts as an extension of the adjacent park. Be seen on the green scene, we say.
