Coffin & Cake / NEWS HUNGRY

Trick or treating is so 2009. For 2010, make sure you celebrate Halloween in true hedonistic style by dropping by London’s Metropolitan Hotel for tea and cake. In keeping with the hotel’s edgy reputation, this ain’t no ordinary tea and cake; to tie in with the holiday, the five-star property has themed its afternoon delights around Mexico’s ‘Day of the Dead’ festival. As usual, the treats on offer are diet-friendly, though this time round they come in the fabulous form of chilli-chocolate coffins, skull cupcakes and raw ‘hydrated’ cookies. Available for £25, we couldn’t think think of a better alternative to gorging on the cheap candy handed out by kids on doorsteps. And if it’s a party you’re after this Halloween, check out the Met Bar’s Mexican-themed Halloween Ball on 31st October.
