As if being the tallest building in the world wasn’t enough, the Burj Khalifa building in downtown Dubai now has the world’s tallest performing fountains outside its front door. The fountains – designed by the creators of the famous Bellagio Hotel fountains in Las Vegas – are set in the 30-acre manmade Burj Khalifa Lake, and shoot water 275m into the air (the equivalent of a 75-floor building). The fountains perform alongside an impressive light and music show, created by 6,600 lights and 25 coloured projectors. While its name – the Dubai Fountain – may not be all that imaginative, there is something undeniably magical about this fabulous water feature.
