Those Wright Brothers rarely get it, er, wrong; not content with their two others restaurants and a catering company, the renowned chefs and restaurateurs have thrown open the doors of another establishment in the heart of Soho. Called Wright Brothers Soho, the elegant eatery brings to Kingly Street the pair’s famed oysters and seafood across three fabulous floors; there’s a bar complete with high-table seating, and an open-plan kitchen that provides a spectacle for wide-eyed diners after a culinary show. Upstairs is a more traditional dining room, with banquette seating overlooking Soho. Just like the duo’s Borough Market outpost, the menu comprises only the freshest fish sourced from sustainable stocks; with their own oyster farms in Cornwall, the British Isles and France, you’re always assured of a sea-to-plate philosophy. And as if all that wasn’t enough to whet your appetite, wrapping things up nicely is the appointment of David Gingell as Executive Head Chef; having worked at The Wolseley, Galvin Bistrot de Luxe and St Albans, it’s pretty much a given that he can be left to his own devices when the Wright brothers are out of town. Which, if their business keeps expanding like this, will be more often than not.
