Opening this week is No. 92, a sophisticated new Champagne and cocktail bar at The Notting Hill Brasserie. Owned and operated by the First Restaurant Group, the brasserie has been a magnet for West London’s most fashionable and most famous for years, and its new bar is sure to see an even more discerning clientele flocking to 92 Kensington Park Road. The interiors are as elegant as you’d expect for a West London haunt, with glossy wooden floorboards flanked by plush velvet love seats and creamy beige armchairs. The bar itself is something of a centrepiece, with striking Art Deco detailing that incorporates a glossy glass front and shiny silver top; diamond-shaped black-and-white mosaic tiling lies underfoot. Meanwhile, the menu harks back to the Georgian era, with drinks such as Fish House Punch (first made in 1732) making an unexpected appearance and everything themed around the delicate art of blending. A bar menu finishes things off nicely, with scaled-down dishes such as Cannellone of Crab with Prawn and Shellfish Veloute and Warm Tart of Crottin de Cavignol and Beetroot on offer. And with a cosy atmosphere, No. 92 is sure to be one of the coolest places to prop up the bar this winter.
