Get Into The Spirit Of Things / NEWS HUNGRY

Christmas. Chestnuts roasting on an open fire, mulled wine, the faint waft of a spruce tree and ambling lilt of the brass band. Alas, this image is becoming increasingly replaced by shoppers stressing on an open shopping mall, vodka and coke, the whiff of burning turkey and the noise of Slade. No bad thing then, that luxury drinks brand Patrón are attempting a contemporary take on the old themes with their collaboration with Harvey Nichols and designer Fiona Leahy. Open from the 16th–23rd from 12am till 9pm, the menswear floor at the Knightsbridge branch will be transformed into a festive winter wonderland. The event promises elegance, style and an updated take on some traditional festive ideas. In essence, however, it is all about drinking luxury cocktails while shopping: good idea. Famed for their tequila, the Patrón event should certainly ease any frayed festive nerves at the high end department store. Mulling over that £1,000 Dior suit will be so much easier after a few Tequila Snowball cocktails. And there are eleven other cocktails to choose from. Expect to see a significant increase of Knightsbridge yummy mummies taking a sudden interest in men’s fashion this Thursday. Aside from the allure of something stronger than the usual coffee from Starbucks, celebrated designer and fashion guru Fiona Leahy will surely impress with her distinct style and slick production. Having worked with Harvey Nichols before, not to mention Louis Vuitton, Leahy will surely feel right at home. Her extravagant Patrón Silver Bauble Bar – something she has made out of more than five thousand silver baubles – will be the central focus of the display. And don’t forget to take a bottle home! The luxury drinks brand will also be selling personalized gifts for loved ones/drinking mates by offering a bottle and medallion engraving service.
