While most people will have overdosed on luxury food and drink over the past couple of weeks, hedonists are different. Admittedly, we can’t get enough. Thankfully, new London-based company Connoisseurs has organised a private dinner at luxury members’ club Home House to celebrate its launch. Taking place on 20th January, the sumptuous supper is the first in a series of monthly events hosted by Connoisseurs that give discerning diners the chance to sample the world’s most exclusive products, learn from the masters who produce them and mingle with some of the city’s highest-fliers. The first decadent dinner features a six-course tasting menu designed by the club’s head chef, Robert Reid; designed to showcase the finest cuts of beef from around the world, guests can expect dishes such as beef carpaccio, steak tartare, beef teriyaki and beef wellington, all washed down with the finest paired wines. After dinner guests will be treated to a talk from master chocolatier Frederic Blondeel, who creates chocolate for The Ritz and The Savoy, among others. Founder of Connoisseurs, Dan Thomson, says; “The motivation for launching Connoisseurs was to bring a luxury experience into a friendly and intimate environment, to be enjoyed with like-minded people. Connoisseurs bar, which is due to open in Mayfair later this year, will share the same ethos; providing a carefully selected list of exceptionally rare wines and spirits and interesting products with a focus on quality not on the mark-up.” Tickets are set to sell like hot cakes, so don’t fret if you miss out this time round; other dates have been confirmed for 17th Febrary, 24th March and April 21st. We, for one, can’t wait to see what all the fuss is about.
