Savour The Weekend / Hg2 MUST-EAT

If you’re looking for a place to indulge in some fine French fare at the weekend, pop along to The Boundary, with its new menu section called ‘Specialités du Weekend’. Eggs feature prominently, with dishes such as eggs Benedict, eggs Florentine and black truffle omelette, plus brandade with poached eggs and hollandaise sauce. If your palate isn’t quite up to eggs (who knows what hedonistic excesses you subjected your body to the night before), there are also the French classics of croque-monsieur and croque-madame. The Sunday lunch menu includes leg of lamb and leg of beef, which feature alongside classic recipes such as choucroute garnie, daube de bœuf provençale, confit de canard, and bouillabaisse, with decadent treats such as lobster and chips also available. At £19.50 for two courses and £24.50 for three, a weekend jaunt for grub at The Boundary is the perfect excuse to check out this converted late-Victorian warehouse, home to three restaurants and bars, individually designed guest bedrooms and suites, a British food store and a bakery. And having explored the premises and had a peep at the work of some of the 50 artists on display here, you’ll have certainly worked up an appetite for all those eggs.
