Opening on 29th March is Pollen Street Social, the first solo venture from former Maze chef Jason Atherton. As the name suggests, the restaurant will be found on Mayfair’s plush Pollen Street near to Hanover Square; it is here that the culinary whizz will present his sophisticated fare in surprisingly unstuffy surroundings. The à la carte menu will be divided into four sections, hot, cold, meat and fish, while a three-course lunch menu, five-course tasting menu and vegetarian menu will wrap things up. For the interiors, Jason has teamed up with starchitects Neri and Hu to create a low-key New York vibe that incorporates a 60-cover dining room and a 45-seat bar area. Interestingly, Pollen Street Social will also house London’s only dessert bar, perfect for sweet-toothed hedonists. Jason says; “I have been dreaming about opening my own restaurant for nearly 20 years and am thrilled to have found this great site in the heart of Mayfair, a place that I love being part of.”
