Won’t You Stay A While? / NEWS HUNGRY

Word on the grapevine is that New York‘s JFK Airport – designed in the shape of bird wings by Eero Saarinen – may get its own boutique hotel. According to whisperings across the pond, the TWA Flight Center, closed since 2001, could be the perfect location for a proposed property. Due to the airport’s landmark status, any hotel built in the vacant terminal would have to adhere to some pretty strict guidelines, but a small, high-end offering would certainly mark itself out from the usual slew of in-airport chains (most of which offer little in the way of style or service). It’s not known whether a developer has been earmarked for the project, but we can’t wait to see how this story develops. After all, sleeping on marble floors during delays doesn’t do much for our hedonist credentials.
