Table Service / NEWS HUNGRY

While it’s known as the ‘place with cool tables’ here at Hg2 HQ, Inamo in London‘s Soho offers so much more. Aside from its interactive tables (on which computerised menus are displayed and diners choose from dishes with their fingertips), the restaurant also serves up lipsmackingly good Oriental fusion to a crowd of self-consciously cool media types. The restaurant has enjoyed so much success, in fact, that it’s gone and opened up another outpost on Lower Regent Street. Called Inamo St. James, the second venue follows in the fabulous footsteps of its older sibling with Macaulay Sinclair-designed interiors that combine cutting-edge technology with all-natural features; the same interactive tables abound throughout, while a Japanese garden with water feature acts as a gorgeous focal point. There’s room for 300 sushi- and sashimi-lovers inside, with the high-tech tables spread across 8,000-square-foot of space; there are also two private dining rooms with space for 16 guests each, as well as a bar area that serves up a cool collection of Asian-inspired cocktails. We, for one, can’t wait to get down there to check it out. Review coming soon.
