Georgian Splendour / Hg2 MUST-STAY

Stop press! The Zetter Hotel in Clerkenwell has spawned a quirky little sibling (or more accurately, great-aunt), that opens on 4th April. The owners have taken a leap back in time with The Zetter Townhouse, a more intimate establishment just across the square from its relation. Interior designer Russell Sage has drawn inspiration from the Georgian buildings to create a tour de force of heritage chic. Each of the 11 rooms and 2 suites is completely unique, packed with different, bold shades of heritage colour and eclectic antique pieces. Eccentric and quintessentially English, the Townhouse will also have a games room in the basement and the bar will cover the entire ground floor, looking out onto the cobbles of St John’s Square. Run by renowned cocktail maestro Tony Conigliaro (watch his cocktail masterclass with Hg2 here) the apothecary-style bar will serve up his fantastical new Georgian-inspired concoctions. With bar food by Bistro Bruno Loubet, and afternoon teas by the Rare Tea Company, this is going to be one of London’s hottest new destinations.
