Celebrate Good Times, Come On! / NEWS HUNGRY

Widely regarded as London‘s first boutique design hotel, The Halkin is celebrating its 20th birthday this year. Having opened in September 1991, it was considered one of the progenitors of a trend that was to redefine the entire hotel industry; 20 years on and it’s still going great guns, with a range of celebratory events planned throughout the hotel for its month-long birthday bash. Included in the line-up is a pop-up Culture Lounge — created by luxury coffee table book publisher Assouline — which will take over the hotel bar and showcase some of the brand’s most treasured tomes; a brand new afternoon tea menu featuring macarons by Pierre Hermé Paris, dubbed the ‘Picasso of pastry’; and a slew of brand new anniversary suites, with two Como Suites and One Belgravia suite having undergone impressive refurbishments. Wrapping things up a nicely are a range of anniversary packages, with packages tailored towards families, shoppers and gastronomes. Now that’s what we call celebrating in style.
