Make Mine An Americano / Hg2 MUST_STAY

If you thought postmodernism was dead, think again. Hotel Americano, New York‘s latest design hotel, is a rather eclectic mix, taking inspiration from all four corners of the world. Along with a Mexican owner and French designer, Grupo Habita’s first property north of the border is also Japanese-styled and NYC-outfitted, creating a contemporary and unique concoction of all things quirky. When you’re in need of retreat after a busy day sampling the many art galleries that line this gritty stretch of West 27th Street, wooden platform beds and gallery-style white walls await you in one of the 56 mid-century, minimalist rooms. And don’t worry; despite the hotel’s perfect location next to the High Line, you won’t have to deal with prying eyes ogling you — an industrial chain-link exterior shields all rooms from the outside, adding yet another touch of the unique to this one-of-a-kind venue.
