One of the London’s top luxury hotels  is once again playing a starring role in the 55th BFI Film Festival (12-27 Oct).

2011 is the 55th year of this prestigious London event and to celebrate the two-week film extravaganza, The May Fair will be transformed into a giant movie theatre.

Activity will include big screens in the hotel’s famous facade, midnight shows, special silver screen inspired cocktails and complimentary gourmet popcorn for guests.

Look out for the transformation of the 406-room West End hotel’s windows into mini cinema screens showing highlights of the BFI Film Festival.

Hotel guests who stay on Friday 21 October will be invited to watch a free cult classic in the hotel’s luxury 201-seater theatre. To find out what the movie is, go to the Hg2 Facebook Page. It’s one of our all time favourites!

Hedonists can also enter our exclusive Movie @ The May Fair hotel competition to win tickets to the showing. Winners also get a choice of a free cocktail or carton or popcorn each.

This is The May Fair hotel’s third year as the official hotel partner for the BFI London Film Festival. The venue has been synonymous with the film industry since the 1950’s when it was owned by film impresarios, the American Danziger Brothers, founders of Elstree Studios.

Sandra Hebron, artistic director for the BFI Festivals said: “The May Fair Hotel was an obvious partner for us. They are great supporters of the film and entertainment industry and once again we will have a choice of excellent spaces for parties, first class suites for our VIPs and access to one of London’s largest and best-equipped private cinemas.”
