HEROES OF TRAVEL: MONTREAL MAN’S 11 YEAR WALK AROUND THE WORLD

A 56-year-old Montreal man has returned home after completing an 11-year walk around the world.

Jean Bileveau, a former businessman, went bankrupt in 2000 and dedicated his life to walking around the world for peace. His journey took him through 60 countries, including deserts, mountain ranges and even war zones. Reports from the Canadian media said at times he even had to eat insects and snakes to survive.

The Hedonist was reunited with his wife on Sunday 16 October and was also met with a travel hero’s welcome by family, friends and MPs.

One of the things Bileveau claimed he missed the most was a “good coffee”. He should check out our handy online guide to find the best cafes in Montreal. He deserves a cup on us!
