The Last City Guide You’ll Ever Need?

Exciting things are afoot here at Hg2. For months, we’ve secretly been toiling away to make our stylish city guides that much more stylish. The result is a complete makeover! Hg2.com has gotten a total redesign that we think makes it easier to use, more stylish and, well, just plain prettier. And die-hard hedonists will know, that’s what we’re all about.

We’re hoping this new site and our soon-to-launch series of city guide apps for Apple, Android and Windows devices will make us the last city break guide you’ll ever need. We’re at your fingertips wherever you go. Welcome to the new Hg2!

Let us show you around the new, improved Hg2.com.

Beautiful Slideshow

At the top of Hg2.com, you’ll see an image slideshow of links that take you to the great new articles and features we’re sharing here on Hg2Magazine.com, whether it be an interview with an in-the-know local or DJ, a roundup of the hottest local trends or the latest fashions to wear on your city break. Just click the red-outlined boxes. Here, you’ll also see the “Inspire Me” box. Use the drop-down menus to choose a city, a venue type (hotel, restaurant, bar, club, etc) and your travel style, and the site delivers you to the perfect travel hotspots for your individual style.

Individual City Homepages

We’ve tailored our new site around each city, including brand new dedicated homepages, for example Hg2Paris.com and Hg2London.com. So if you already know where you’re headed, simply type in the individual city web address (always Hg2CityName.com) and you’ll find the best restaurants, hotels, nightlife and things to do on your city break.

You can use the navigation bar at the top of each city’s homepage to click on “Hotels”, “Restaurants”, “Bars”, “Cafes”, “Clubs”, “Sights”, “Shops” or “Things To Do” to get a full list of all the most stylish places we’ve uncovered. From this screen, you can also click on the city map if you’d like to find a place in a particular area of the city. Clicking on the city’s playlist in the centre of the page will open a Spotify playlist created especially for Hg2 by a local DJ to inspire your city break. Make sure to sign up to our newsletter to keep up-to-date with the launch of our new apps and the fantastic competitions and giveaways we’re doing, too.

Venue pages

We’ve also redesigned the venue pages to give you a better look at each place. You can sort the venues by your travel style, whether you’re looking for somewhere “Achingly Hip”, “Budget Chic”, “Expense Account”, “Old School”, “Neighbourhood Vibe” or “Uniquely Local” – just click on your preferred style to sort.

Clicking on an individual photo will open a preview in the top left pane, where you’ll find a short intro and contact information.

If it sounds like your kind of place, click on ‘More Info’ to be delivered to the venue’s page, containing our full review and a map. From here, you can scroll through other venues using the arrows at the bottom of the page.

Useful Map Pages

We’ve also updated our map pages so that you can find each places easily. Click on the categories (e.g. “Sleep”, “Eat” or “Drink”) to activate them in delicious colours on the map. Zoom in and out, or search by area or district using the handy drop-down menu below.
