Welcome to San Francisco | Hg2 LAUNCH

It’s been a busy autumn here at Hg2, with a lot of new city guides in the pipeline. A few weeks ago, we launched our new Tel Aviv city guide and today we’re pleased to announce the launch of our brand new San Francisco city guide. There’s a lot to love about the City by the Bay: its laid-back vibe, commitment to equality, kooky shopping and stellar restaurants. Not to mention the go-for-it, all-encompassing nightlife scene.

The new Hg2 San Francisco city guide offers the best hotels, restaurants, bars, clubs, shopping and sightseeing in San Francisco to get you going on your next California holiday. We’ve also put together a map of the city, a San Fran reading list to inspire and inform your trip and a list of great bloggers to check out.

In celebration, we’ve picked out a few of our favourite San Francisco videos to help set the mood.

The Unseen Sea

This beautiful time-lapse shows the Bay Area’s iconic fog rolling in and out over sparkling evening lights, the bridges and hills nearby.

San Francisco’s People

This graceful video shows shots of the diversity of San Francisco’s people going about their daily lives in this great city.

San Francisco 1958

Cool vintage footage of urban San Fran shot in 1958.

The City

This year-long timelapse of San Francisco is set to music by Boards of Canada.

Tartine Bread

[vimeo http://vimeo.com/14354661 w=709&h=399]

San Francisco is known for many things, but its sourdough bread is a true local highlight. 4SP Films created this short documentary about the Tartine Bakery, in which celebrated baker Chad Robertson reveals the process behind the most sought-after loaf in San Francisco.

The Golden Gate Way

[vimeo http://vimeo.com/43004940 w=709&h=399]

Iconic scenes of San Francisco set to some of the most iconic songs about the city – think Otis Redding, John Lee Hooker and Tony Bennett.

Great review. You may not be aware of the Art gallery/ Bar called Project 1 in Potrero. It is owned by my son and his wife Steve and Brooke Waterhouse. They have a beautiful space with new art works exhibited each month. Disco, bar great place to hang out. Meet the local entrepreneurs and innovative artists. No parking problems. Hidden gem.
